Vue RenderCows

RenderCows allow the network rendering of Vue standalone scenes.

RenderCows are the ideal solution for small-scale render farms with typically 5-30 Vue-only rendering computers. RenderCows are available for Windows and Mac.

RenderCows are optimized for easy setup and are managed through HyperVue, an integrated, easy-to-use rendering interface. No dedicated render farm management software is required.

Because HyperVue is Vue-specific, RenderCows do not cohabit easily with other rendering software.

By default, Vue Infinite and Vue xStream ship with the ability to render on 5 RenderCows. On top of this, additional RenderCows can be purchased separately from the main application, by packs of 5.

RenderCows can be used with both Vue Infinite and Vue xStream, however, in the case of Vue xStream, the RenderCows will not be able to render integrated Vue scenes (xStream scenes). They will only render Vue content.

If you need to render integrated xStream scenes (.max, .ma or .mb, .c4d, .lws, .scn), you will have to use Vue RenderNode instead.

Vue RenderNodes

RenderNodes are the ideal solution for serious production facilities that use multiple rendering software.

RenderNodes are designed to work efficiently alongside the other tools in your production facility. They are controlled by your render farm manager using simple command line instructions.

RenderNodes are available for Windows, Mac and Linux (see further down) platforms.

The Vue RenderNode license will enable you to use a 3rd party network rendering application to manage and distribute the rendering of both Vue scene files (.vue) AND xStream scenes (.max, .ma or .mb, .c4d, .lws, .scn) over a network of computers.

The Vue RenderNode is able to render xStream integrate scenes with all renderers with one single license (3ds Max Mental Ray, VRay for 3ds Max, Maya software, Maya Mental Ray, VRay for Maya, Softimage Mental Ray, LightWave software, Cinema4D software, Mental Ray standalone – other renderers are under consideration).

Vue products does not include any RenderNode nodes. Vue RenderNode licenses can be purchased individually or in bulk. The price for one node of Vue RenderNode is $149.

Vue RenderNode licenses require the use of the e-on License Server - $495 (this is mandatory). If you already purchased the e-on License Server with your Vue license, you don’t need to purchase it again.

Example: for a network of 50 Quad core computers, you will need to get a one 50 seats RenderNode license.

Vue Linux RenderNodes

The Vue Linux RenderNode license will enable you to use a 3rd party network rendering application to manage and distribute the rendering of Vue scene files* (.vue only) over a network of Linux based computers.

Vue products does not include any Linux RenderNode nodes. Vue Linux RenderNode licenses can be purchased individually or in bulk. The price for one node of Vue RenderNode is $300/seat. Linux RenderNodes are subject to a 20% yearly renewal fee.

Linux RenderNodes currently run on CentOS 5 64 bit Linux distribution, Kernel 2.6. Facilities interested in purchasing Vue RenderNodes for other Linux distributions should contact us for availability.

Vue Linux RenderNode licenses require the use of the e-on License Server - $495 (this is mandatory). If you already purchased the e-on License Server with your Vue license, you don’t need to purchase it again.

Example: for a network of 50 Quad core computers, you will need to get a one 50 seats RenderNode license.

* The development of an xStream Linux RenderNode, compatible with Linux versions of Maya, Softimage and Cinema4D, will be considered if market demands.
Please note that porting the Vue application to Linux is not planned at this date.
