Carbon Scatter still crashes Cinema 4D when rendering animations with GI.
The GI pre-pass consistently crashes on the second frame.

Hi Brian,

we are sorry for the inconvenience. Would it be possible for you to upload your scene that crashes C4D, because I could not reproduce this bug. Thanks.

Best Regards.

The scene is 851mb! I doubt I will be able to upload that before my deadline expires.

My work-around has been to render with Cinema 4Ds GI setting for still images, the flicker is awful but I am able to render a few frames at a time before Cinema crashes with excellent render times. The scene does not crash when not using Carbon Scatter. This project has around 500 clones generated from 3 objects of 15,000 to 40,000 polygons. Frustrum culling is enabled.

The crashes do not seem to be dependent on the number or complexity of the clones - I'm not sure if the size of the scene is a factor.

My machine is an 3.2 ghz 8 core Mac pro 3.1 with 16GB ram and plenty of hard disk space. Both Cinema 4D & Carbon Scatter are running as 64bit. I'm not having any major display issues other than interactive viewports reverting to bounding box due to the scene size.

Hi Brian,
a new update fixing issues when rendering animations is available. It should also solve your problem.
