When trying to launch any of the Vue 10 xStream processes from the menu drop down Cinema locks up with a spinning beach ball. Force quit will not close the window (all though the finder reports Cinema as closed). I have to restart my Mac to get rid of the window.

Are you using xStream and Carbon Scatter simultaneously?
If so, you should contact tech support.

I have both installed but I am only trying to use xStream.
Also I have tried without any other plugins installed in case of any conflict.

Funny you should mention that. Carbon Scatter is causing the same issue.

Hi,

we are sorry for this issue. Carbon Scatter is currently not compatible with xStream 10 on Mac (but it works with xStream 9.5). We will fix it shortly in a next update. I will inform you here when it will be done.

Best regards.

Will one work without the other?
I can get by with just Carbon Scatter for now.

It seems that removing one or other of the plugins does not help. I tried removing Carbon Scatter from Cinema 4d plugins and application folder but xStream still crashes from Cinema 4d. The reverse is also true, so obviously I need to properly uninstall. I do not wish to remove Vue xStream completely from my system so removing Carbon Scatter is the preferred option but there is no uninstaller on the Carbon Scatter dmg. What files need to be removed so that I can use xStream from Cinema 4d without issue?

I have just bought an alternative cloner to replace Carbon Scatter since during the time I have had the plugin there have been too many issues like this - not work with Cinema 4d r12 (required 2 updates), Cinema 4d r13, now Vue xStream 10.

Yes, it should work without the other, but you must launch only one plugin per session of C4D. If you launch xStream, then close the scene, and launch CS, it won't work because xStream is still loaded. You have to relaunch C4D.

If it doesn't work even by following this rule, let me know.

You can still manually uninstall the xStream plugin for C4D by deleting the folder Vue_xStream from the plugin folder of C4D.

Best regards.

I have done this. The problem is not occurring because I am trying to use both plugins during the same session, it occurs just having both plugins installed on my system. At the moment accessing either plugin even from a fresh scene will hang Cinema 4D and the hung processes cannot be terminated, requiring me to restart the computer.

I need to properly uninstall one or other product to see if I can continue.
I would prefer to properly uninstall Carbon Scatter as I have replaced it with another product and will most likely leave it off my system.

C4D doesn't know anything about xStream or CS if you remove their folders from "Applications/MAXON/Cinema 4D R12/plugins". So it should not freeze.
There is something really stange happening here. Have you tried deleting both plugin ?

To completely remove CS from your computer (but it won't change anything for C4D), you must also delete these folders :
- /Applications/Carbon Scatter
- /Users/[your_username]/e-onsoftware/Carbon Scatter
- /Users/[your_username]/Library/Application Support/e-onsoftware/Carbon Scatter
