I finally got Ozone (with the latest build) to work - along with XStream - no crashes - then - suddenly - about 2 weeks ago, Ozone stopped working well - it now takes a ridiculously long time to load and usually crashes C4D completely. I've re-installed it several times to no avail. I just use XStream now.
So far I've had no crashes with the latest update which is great, but I've literally just loaded Ozone and hit the render button. It'll be a long time before I trust it on a commercial project again. The file corruption problem is much more serious than crashing Cinema, it is known but currently not solvable as I understand it.
Cheers
You're right - I'm lucky in that I have a working version of xStream so I can use the atmosphere from it - and it's working without too many problems for the moment.
I have a feeling it has problems related to how it's licensed - it seems to be looking up something for quite a while - the disk drive becomes extremely active - and if I hit the Task Manager - it will suddenly present the catalog - but it's near frozen. Maybe it's Vista's elaborate security that's interfering with it running (although I did have it running smoothly not very long ago).
Sorry to say that this is still not working correctly and crashing C4D. I recently downloaded the 3_3.10 update and I'm now getting an error message on launching the plug in, Cinema then freezes, spinning beach ball and have to force quit.
I have just sent a support request, additionally I have asked for my money back, don't suppose I'll get it.
If I were to supply such a poor service/product to my clients I'd have to refund them or expect not to be paid.
Has anybody got this software working? Please tell me some good news!
I have the same problems. I`ve bought ozone 3.0 for C4D for some Effect Shots, but i can`t. C4D freezes if i rotate the viewport or if i change the Camera. Not every time, but I think at 80% of all the Scenes i startet.
Im not able to install the Update to Version 3.10 - Build 292700, because it says that the core Installation ist not the right Version to upgrade. Very bad.
hi fellows, i just bought ozone3 and i had those problems, too. but after i installed build292563, rendering artifacts are mostly gone and crashes come regulary, but not as much as after the first installation of the plugin.
so i think at least they are working on it and lets hope those crashes will be gone in the near future to make this plugin as good as the results look like (when they are there

I've been an xStream user with C4D for every version of xStream and each compatible version of Cinema 4D up through R11. Certainly xStream has gotten a lot more robust and impressive over its various versions.
I was also an Ozone 2 C4D user and that worked very well for me. When Ozone 3 came out, I heard about lots of crashes, but I was using xStream at the time so I never experienced them first-hand.
As of today, I'm also using Ozone 3 so that I can help to answer questions in this forum. From what little I've tried so far, build 292563 (as Christian mentioned) seems to be working quite well for me with C4D R11. If anybody has any specific problems still, please bring them up so that I can look into those issues. _________________ Regards,
