hello everybody
I have to render 10 second animation in vue 10 xstream
i stop the back render to see what done the 3 first second of the animation,
and the render is good for picture but when the movie play , i have flickering
on material , shadows etc..., the render is done in final mode , global radiosity
render time 15 mn by frame(25 fr/second) in 1280X720 , perfect for my timing ,
light balance was at 84 % , and maybe it's to much for animation ,
welcome for any suggestion
this animation is the end of my portfolio and demo reel ,and i'm so sad to have this at the very end , very good result on picture ,very god result for the motion cam and car rig with animated particle , wind on tree , motion water , clouds etc... bad with flicker ...... help me please it's so important for me !!!!, i work hard for this . For the moment i try to reduce light balance to 70% and go to global illumination .
best regard and thank for your help.....
My 2 cents of advice. Make sure to use texture filter (almost mandatory with transparency maps for leaves) and use customs settings. I like rather high AA settings 4/16 @ 70%. Sometimes I have to boost the GI in addition to setting the global quality to 45% and try to avoid soft shadow if possible. Unless you boost the quality very high it "could" cause flicker. Trial and error with simple scenes will bear out what you need to do.
ok thank you for your help , that done well now but i lose quality in the hight light , and some part of the shadows make the trees very black , but it's good ,the motion don't let the time to see all the detail , and the focus gone on the car , also , i think for the future release , technical staff need to work on to resolve flickering in this render engine when we works in GR or give us the "cook book" for animation GR
ok i'm gonna read all very attentively but all is done now in GI , the result is relatively good , and the render time by frame is very good (7 mn by frame)
to fake the black shadow i have to change the rig of the cam , and now with the new orientation only confirmed vue artist can see it !!! for my porfolio i have demo reel and lot of picture all in GR combined with mental ray , the result is very good , but now i want to know the way to have the same good result
in motion with GR .Vue is a fantastic soft and very powerful not only for texturing and i think for rendering perfect animation in GR the engine like mental ray need to bee explored in deth, my skill for this in mental ray is good and i can fake Finalgatter and GI to be free for animation without constraint with vue , i know relatively well the global workflow , i can in no time build landscape, texture, rendering picture in hight level of quality but for motion it's not the same situation, a have to work a lot , but ... thank for your help when all the demo reel will ready i'll post a link .
i work for web ,tv , print only in france for the moment but i would like to go in other skyline
Enable anti-aliasing for objects and textures. Increase AA Min and Max values for both. Change AA Quality threshold to 80% or 90%.
Increasing AA quality will increase your rendertime but will reduce animation flickering. You have to find a balance for acceptable rendertime.
